Moses 7

February 2–8, 2026

Enoch sees God weep and asks how that is possible. The answer runs on agency, and it is one of the most consequential passages in Latter-day Saint scripture.

Easy to miss

In Moses 7 the earth itself speaks — and it sounds exhausted.

Enoch hears a voice from “the bowels” of the earth: “Wo, wo is me, the mother of men; I am pained, I am weary, because of the wickedness of my children. When shall I rest?” Enoch weeps and asks the Lord whether the earth will ever rest. The answer points to the Second Coming. Paul says something similar: “the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”
