Try this: underline every “and he died” in Genesis 5 — and find the one man it is missing from.
The chapter is a drumbeat: a man lives, fathers a son, lives on, “and he died.” It closes entry after entry. Then comes Enoch: “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” In a list built to show that death reaches everyone, one line breaks the pattern — and the Book of Moses gives that one man two chapters.
